PFSC-L Golf Day
Tony Saunders describes a members day out .....
London Pompey Golf Day.
London Pompey held their first ever golf day on 21st July at Austin Lodge Golf Club, Eynsford, Kent.
Six members were greeted by splendid weather to play in what we'd like to develop into a regular event. Hopefully we'd like to challenge London Saints to a South Coast 'Ryder Cup' match in the future and that is something I'll be working to achieve in the coming month or so. As we speak we have ten members who play but due to work commitments and the like four were unable to join us this time out.
The match was won by the recently retired headmaster Pete (Tiger) Lawrence with a very good score of 32 stableford points. He's obviously enjoying his retirement and hopes to be off of scratch by this time next year!! David Foot was a very close second but the Balham boys Pete O'Keefe and Steve Carpenter struggled slightly probably down to the fact that they were partnering Tiger.
Myself and Greg Harrison had good scores of 30 and 29 points respectively although a couple of poor holes did for the pair of us.

Any golf playing PFSC-L members who haven't contacted me about playing but would like to in the future please contact me at
londonpompeymembership@hotmail.co.uk and I'll be glad to add you to my list.
Thanks to all of those who supported what was a very enjoyable day it was most appreciated especially as several of you had longish journeys to play.
